John Kiehne believes that elected officials have an obligation to promote policies that enable and facilitate opportunity, justice, safety, security, good health, and prosperity for each and every St. Louis County resident.
★ St. Louis County is home to over one million residents, tens of thousands of businesses, and is a regional tranportation hub that includes interstate highways, several airports including Lambert International Airport, rail, and waterways. It’s imperative that we maintain and continue to upgrade our various means of transportation for residents, businesses, and travelers alike.
★ Managing Public Safety is a primary obligation for St. Louis County government, and it’s imperative that we support, maintain, and improve our capacity to respond to crime, health, welfare, and property-related emergencies, as well as improving our disaster preparedness.
★ St. Louis County is the primary economic generator for the St. Louis region. Economic growth and development efforts serve to provide employment opportunities, business opportunities, and to help our communities to grow and thrive in St. Louis County and beyond.
★ The St. Louis County government manages, supports and promotes a variety of recreation-related entities that enhance our daily lives including parks, trails, and facilities throughout St. Louis County.
★ As the taxing authority for St. Louis County businesses and residents, the St. Louis County government has an obligation to tax and spend revenue as efficiently and responsibly as possible.

Over the coming weeks and months, John will be sitting down with St. Louis County Council District 7 residents and crafting a platform that resonates with and addresses the concerns of the majority of West County residents. As a candidate for St. Louis County Council, John seeks to cut through the partisanship that has hampered progress in St. Louis County for many years and be a true representative for the residents in West St. Louis County’s in the 7th Council District.

John will work to make sure that St. Louis County spends wisely, taxes fairly, and operates efficiently, while meeting its obligations to serve the best interests of St. Louis County residents. No more fiscal cliffs and budget deficits!!!
★ MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE INFRASTRUCTURE AND PUBLIC TRANSIT
The St. Louis region is a major transportation hub, and West St. Louis County includes many roads, bridges, an airport, and two major waterways. John will advocate to maintain and improve the roads, bridges, airports, railways, buses, trains, and waterways that benefit residents, businesses, tourists, and pleasure-seekers alike.
★ SUPPORT PUBLIC SAFETY AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
John Kiehne will advocate for critical county services that serve and protect St. Louis County residents and businesses including law enforcement, fire protection, ambulance service, and emergency management.
★ PROMOTE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION
The St. Louis region is the economic generator for the region, and St. Louis County contributes 25% of the GDP for the state of Missouri. John will work to help St. Louis County startups, businesses, and attractions to get established, grow, thrive, and most importantly- enjoy long-term success in St. Louis County.
